A Singer Meets A Painter Beyond Space And Time

Now I understand what you tried to say to me

How you suffered for your sanity

How you tried to set them free

They would not listen, they’re not listening still

Perhaps they’ll listen now

<Don Mclean, Vincent>

In this world, there is what you can see with your eyes and what you can see with your mind. If someone is moved by something and creates something else from the inspiration, that moves another’s heart, which generates another inspiration. Neither inspiration nor movement can be seen with your eyes. It can never be bought for billions of dollars. It can’t be artificially created either. And it transcends time and space. That’s how Don McLean was encountered with Vincent Van Gogh.

The painting by Van Gogh, created from some inspiration, touched Don McLean of a different generation who composed the song based on his inspiration. It’s Don McLean’s Vincent.

Then where do inspiration and movement come from? This exists with us all the time, no matter we recognize it or not; it is like white canvas that seems nothing exists but has everything within; that we couldn’t recognize as it was so natural. This is the soul and spirit before the materials, which you can see with your mind, not by your eyes. Because it is the everlasting, never-changing oneness beyond time and space, Van Gogh and McLean could have a beautiful meeting.

As we also coexist within that existence all the time, we get to receive gifts, movement and inspiration. It’s truly beautiful and grateful to be able to coexist in that, right at this moment.
